Professional growth and development is a big part of what we do in our educational careers. Finding innovative ways to support this desire to learn and advance is a high priority in Deer Creek, which is why we offered a new opportunity for teachers during the 2023-24 school year

Mr. Gibbs was sworn in as the Ward #4 Board Member at the board meeting on April 8, 2024. 

Congratulations to the following employees who were named Support Employees of the Year for their sites and departments. Each of these individuals make significant contributions to our district. We are so appreciative of all they do to keep things running smoothly for our students, staff and schools

The Oklahoma State Department of Education recently awarded Deer Creek Schools a School Counselor Corps grant of $6,750 to purchase supplies for our calm rooms. 

Deer Creek School District is excited to host a public forum for the two candidates running for the Ward #4 board seat, Paul Elder and James Gibbs. This district-sponsored event will allow our community to hear from both candidates ahead of voting on April 2, 2024.

Please make plans to join us March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Deer Creek Administration Building (20701 N MacArthur Blvd, Edmond, OK 73012). 

Thanks to a partnership with the Deer Creek Schools Foundation, each week, substitutes who worked on a Monday or Friday are entered into a drawing for a $100 giftcard. Each month, those who worked 10+ more full school days were entered into a drawing for a $400 gift card. This program is one of the ways we say thank you to our outstanding substitutes who help keep our schools thriving. Interested in subbing in Deer Creek?

"There was an overwhelming consensus by the Naming Advisory Committee when it came to the new elementary school. There was still a strong desire to keep this name rooted in the history of Deer Creek and there are two stories that led to the final name. "

Join us for this year's Deer Creek District Arts Festival on May 4 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the PAAC. This event showcases art from students in each of our schools and often includes performances from our various fine arts programs. This is a great time for the whole family. We hope to see you there!

Each year, our schools each choose one teacher to be recognized as the Teacher of the Year. These outstanding educators represent the high caliber of education provided to our students in all of our classrooms across the district.

All of our honorees are celebrated at a special Teacher of the Year Banquet, where the district teacher of the year is chosen. We are excited to announce this year's District Teacher of the Year on Feb. 29th! 

Deer Creek School District faculty and staff begin a new crisis preparedness training program with Practical Preparedness, an organization dedicated to providing education in proven preparedness and safety tactics, on November 17th. Deer Creek Schools is the first public school district in Oklahoma to conduct this training program with their employees.
